The main responsibility for this role is to carry out routine electrical maintenance to a high standard.
You will perform fault diagnosis and repairs on industrial electrical supplies, and a varied range of electronic control systems.
Some minor installation and modification work will also be required at times.
The position is day-work, and after a probation period, you will be on a standby rota to operate assets for flood emergencies, and any other operational requirements.
You may be required to work at height, over water or in confined spaces.
All relevant training, tools and PPE will be provided.
Based at the Thames Barrier in south east London, you will be part of the MEICA Electrical Team, working on various electrical and electronic equipment at several Flood Defence Structures within the Kent and South London area, and at other sites along the tidal Thames.
Time served electrician or controls technician with experience of industrial LV power distribution and control systems.
BS 7671 17th Edition qualification required.
PLC knowledge an advantage.
Experience of hydraulics, HV distribution, SCADA, instrumentation or telemetry systems an advantage.
Normal colour vision.
Successful applicant will have to undergo Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)

Competent at fault finding on electrical and electronic circuits.
Able to read and understand complex schematic drawings.
MEICA - Maintenance and work management systems
Completes routine maintenance tasks, fault finding and installation work to a high standard, in a safe, timely and tidy manner.
Able to use Microsoft Office products, write reports, and accurately enter data in to computerised maintenance systems.
Able to provide technical input to project meetings for major works when required.
Health Safety & Wellbeing
Understands responsibilities for health and safety on industrial sites.
Able to work to Method Statements and understand Risk Assessments.
Clean Full Driving Licence
