You will be joining our partnerships and strategic overview team as a modelling advisor.
This role oversees the area Mapping and Modelling programme, supports the capital programme including being a Senior User on larger projects, develops and trains colleagues in the use, analysis of models, scoping modelling for projects, as well as ensuring that our models are fit for purpose, including for future uses including informing our future pipeline programme.

Key tasks include:

• Liaising internally, to identify modelling requirements, identifying efficiencies and overlap between different projects, and identifying the level of resource required, at a senior user, project management and Evidence and Risk.
• Identify the area's key priorities and allocate the limited funding in the best way to meet area objectives.
• Set up the modelling package, support with scope writing and begin the procurement process and general support.
• Liaise with our consultants and build a good working relationship with them so we can have discussions about the best approaches.
• For the in-house support programme, they support on monthly reporting and work closely with the Evidence &Risk Programme Advisor
• Manage the programme and ensure that it links in with the other programmes.
Partnerships & Strategic Overview support the whole lifecycle of our flood and coastal risk management assets. We use a wide range of skills to help us plan for the future. They include the analysis of data to inform future investment plans, engagement with communities and professional partners and developing strategic approaches to future flood risk management. We work in partnership with communities and other organisations to protect people and property from future flood risk.
Through your experience you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• Have experience in modelling techniques and their limitations, Flood Modeler and GIS.
• Apply a project management approach to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
• Be able to show where you’ve delivered success outcomes
• Be an intelligent problem solver, with a methodical work approach linked to managing risk
• Have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with a variety of customers
• Experience of working within and knowledge of flood risk management is desirable.
It would be advantageous to hold a Full UK driving licence.
Base location is Alchemy and there will be the expectation to attend the office if business need requires for meetings, training, collaboration etc.
