We are looking for a forward thinking person with electrical experience and knowledge to work on our Strategically Important Assets within the team. The role will require you to work with a large variety of assets including surface water and groundwater pumping stations operating in high voltage and low environments. Your role within the team will be to undertake electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on the assets. In addition, the role will be required to undertake the role of SAP (Senior Appointed Person) when required
The Hydrology & Operations team within East Anglia is responsible for the operation and maintenance activities on our Strategically important assets, namely the Ely Ouse to Essex Transfer scheme (EOETS) and related Groundwater Support schemes such as the Stour Augmentation Groundwater Scheme (SAGS) and the Waveney Augmentation Groundwater Scheme (WAGS) providing water to the receiving rivers in times of environmental stress. The team undertakes maintenance activities on the assets to ensure they are operationally ready.
We are seeking an electrician experienced in the industrial or water sector to undertake electrical planned preventative maintenance activities on our assets. The ideal candidate will hold Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent electrical qualifications with suitable experience in the desired sectors expecting the successful candidate will work towards professional registration / membership with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
You should also be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:-
• Industrial controls i.e. three phase motor controls, SCADA / PLC systems, electrical diagrams
• High Voltage environments.
• City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing of electrical installations
• City & Guilds 9848-51 High Voltage (HV) operational safety
• Switch High Voltage equipment, write switching schedules and issue High Voltage safety documents.
• Undertake to role of Senior Appointed Person (SAP) when required.
A working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) will be an advantage
Frequent travel between various area office / depot locations will be required for which a vehicle will be provided for business purposes. This post requires a full UK driving licence.
