London Weighting £3,776
After a qualifying period, Standby Allowance of £3,300 and Site Allowance £3,000
Incorporated Engineers attract £3,000
Chartered Engineers attract £6,000

Working as part of the electrical team, your main responsibility will be the reliable performance of the PLC, HMI and SCADA systems. As a direct report to the Electrical Team Leader your technical expertise will help solve strategic and operational challenges.

Additionally, the role will require you to:
• Work to/provide advice on MEICA specifications and regulations
• Take a methodical/intelligent approach to fault diagnosis
• Compile reports for both technical/non-technical staff
• Develop training programmes and deliver these to skilled technicians
• Work alongside and collaborate with specialist contractors to deliver upgrade projects/routine
maintenance
• Take a lead on writing and completing commissioning schedules

The position is day-work, and after a qualifying period there is the opportunity to join a standby rota to operate assets for flood defence, respond to incidents, and other operational requirements.

There may be a requirement to work at height, over water or in confined spaces.

All training, tools and PPE will be provided.
The MEICA Electrical Team are based at the iconic Thames Barrier in Southeast London. They maintain and operate a wide variety of equipment at large flood defence structures and other associated sites along the tidal Thames. These structures protect around £300 Billion of assets in central London and over 1.25 Million people.

The team also work closely with the Mechanical and Project teams to ensure total reliability of our assets at all times.
• Incorporated Engineer status or working towards with the IET
• Degree in an electrical engineering subject or equivalent experience
• CCNA or equivalent is favourable
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
• Experience with fibre and copper communications systems
• Experience of on-site commissioning, systems integration, and adapting legacy code for new systems
• SQL Database and .NET programming experience would be advantageous
• Able to write Risk Assessments & Method Statements
• BS7671:18th Edition certification
• Full Driving License

MEICA - Maintenance and work management systems

Completes routine maintenance tasks and fault finding on networked control systems. Performs engineering operations to a high standard in a safe, timely and tidy manner. Reads technical drawings and analyses faults on complex systems. Can write maintenance schedules for SCADA and PLC systems.
