ER04 Job Family Role Profile Environment & Regulation, Grade 4
Wanting to further develop your skills? The Environment Agency has exciting opportunities for you to do just that!
We’re looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Financial Provision Team part of Permitting. Permitting is the foundation of regulation, and crucial to the economy, people and wildlife. You’ll help create a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment. Your day-to-day role will be assessing information and data that forms part of a permit application predominantly for landfill sites across the UK making sure they have the right Financial Provision in place.
Through training, mentoring and coaching, you will gain experience and develop the skills that will allow you to carry out technical assessments in line with Environment Agency, DEFRA and Regulatory obligations.
You'll manage a large, varied caseload, make legally binding risk-based decisions using industry specific guidance and liaise regularly with local and national technical specialists, assessing customer’s Expenditure Plans ensuring all required permit obligations are met. You will also liaise with operators, consultants, Environment Agency colleagues in Area and Permitting along with the legal team to produce the required legal agreements.
Other responsibilities include developing your technical and personal effectiveness skills, contributing to team performance, supporting and coaching other team members, and supporting other teams within our changing service demands. Continuous improvement and records management are also key parts of the role.
