Job description

The Waste Regime Operational Services (WROS) plan, monitor and deliver compliance and enforcement activity for the following areas of waste regulation; Separate Collections, Material Facilities, Packaging, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Batteries, International Waste Shipments.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team of Regulatory Officers within the International Waste Shipments Team. You will regulate and monitor the import/export of notified waste through England, disrupting illegal shipments and creating a level playing field for industry. Our team goal is to make sure ‘right waste, right place.’

This role is varied and challenging, with scope for you to develop your skills within the waste shipments regime and across WROS.
The team

WROS is formed of, Producer Responsibility Regulatory Services, International Waste Shipments, Material Facilities and Separate Collections, Pan Area Teams, the Support & Delivery team and a new Regulatory Reform
Proven experience of working in a customer focused, service delivery role.
Proven ability in prioritising and managing a varied workload.
Experience of working in support of customers to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements is desirable but not essential
Ability to coordinate the collection, assessment and reporting of diverse, complex data.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external customers is essential.
Ability to interpret, analyse and diagnose problems and develop solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external customers.
