You will support a team responsible for delivering a programme of inspections and maintenance to flood defence assets.
These assets ensure coastal and fluvial flood protection in the South Wessex Area. You will maintain our bespoke, electronic
system ‘Asset Inventory Management System – Operations and Maintenance’ (AIMS:OM), ensuring that our assets are funded
and maintained to required standards. You will assist with training team members in the use of AIMS:OM, and other data
management tools. You will work closely with the field delivery teams to provide accurate data and mapping information
when required.

The role includes:
-Managing and participating in the delivery of the T98 visual condition and CCTV culvert programmes.
-Creating and editing flood defence asset data.
-Adding maintenance jobs to the database and submitting them to field teams.
-Using AIMS:OM to review and update annual bids for funding to carry out repairs to our flood defence assets.
-Working with colleagues to facilitate system updates and planned maintenance work.
-Managing a set of Public Safety Risk Assessment (PSRA) sites.
-Managing and maintaining records for assets that are below their required condition (BRC).
-Collaborating with and supplying information to colleagues across the area on priority projects with your specialist knowledge.
The Asset Performance Team, within Flood and Coastal Risk Management Operations, in Wessex South. We manage the whole life cycle of flood and coastal risk management assets. We ensure our assets work to reduce flood risk for our communities and enhance our environment. We are a friendly and experienced, multi-skilled team of technical advisors, incident management leads, catchment managers, data and support officers and asset inspectors.
Candidates should be interested in participating in modern Asset Management and particularly in ensuring our data is accurate and complete. An interest in coastal and fluvial flood risk management is essential and an enjoyment of interrogating data for internal and external stakeholders.

Essential for this role is a keen eye for detail, the ability to prioritise multiple concurrent tasks to meet deadlines, great verbal and written communication skills and experience in data and information management. It would be advantageous to have knowledge of health and safety paperwork/procedures, GiS, and paperwork for Pre-construction Information.

Key capabilities for this job are excellent communication skills, focussing on our customers and partners, proficiency in data and information management and working with others. Team members tend to hold incident activated standby roles.
