We are looking for an experienced leader to join the ncpms North Unit team to champion programme level delivery of medium to high risk multi-disciplinary projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to develop programme management across the business with a fully integrated team.

In this role you will:
• instil a positive culture ensuring the necessary processes and culture is in place for the team to perform at their best;
• develop excellent and collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring the wider integrated team provides excellence in project and programme management;
• work with an integrated team and stakeholders to continually identify and implement opportunities to improve;
• develop a clear vision for delivery of the programme using an integrated team and support them in understanding and delivering it;
• use the advice from technical experts around you to make sound judgements and decision making;
• ensure the wider integrated team delivers to time, cost and quality.
ncpms is part of the National Operations directorate and provides professional programme and project delivery for the organisation. Our main source work is appraising and delivering flood risk management schemes for the Environment Agency and other Risk Management Authorities. The Programme Manager role covers the North Unit of ncpms, and the role-holder can be based in either Leeds or Warrington.
You must be a strong leader with proven leadership skills. You will have developed your leadership style through previous roles you have held.
A history of successful delivery of projects or programmes of work both yourself and through others is essential as are strong organisational skills.
An ability to build relationships, liaise with, and influence across a wider delivery team and with senior managers is also a key requirement of this role.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a civil engineering, environmental or related subject.

Professional membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Chartered Institute of Environmental Management (CIWEM) or other relevant professional body, or equivalent proven experience that can be clearly related to this role, is essential.
Salary: £54,396 (grade rate)

Location: Leeds or Warrington office base

Driving licence ideally required as some driving may be necessary. Travel (across the Hub or nationally) and overnight stays forms part of the role.
