We are looking for someone to provide technical support across the team which will involve a variety of water resource, Water Framework Directive and water quality administrative and technical tasks.
You’ll also provide support for various water resources projects and Water Framework Directive Investigations. These will require you to audit and analyse relevant environmental data. Prior GIS knowledge would be an advantage.
The Integrated Environment Planning Team has a role in collating, analysing and sharing data to produce evidence that informs and drives area priorities. The team includes Specialists and Officers who focus on water resources, water quality and Water Framework Directive activities.

We lead on the Area’s Restoring Sustainable Abstraction programme, and the Catchment Abstraction Management Strategies (CAMS). We work closely with operational teams and external customers including local water companies.
• You’ll need to have good team working and organisational skills as the post will require liaison with a diverse range of customers, both inside and outside the organisation.
• You’ll need to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and provide particular evidence that you pay attention to detail.
• An awareness of environmental, and particularly water management issues and legislation, would be highly desirable.
• The post will require competence in the use of standard desk-top computer packages including all Microsoft Office packages. ARCGIS is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
Additional useful information
This role is a development role however, due to the fact that it is only fixed term the successful candidate may not reach grade 4 before the contract expires.
