Engagement and Enforcement Officer - a role that helps deliver our principle FCRM Enforcement aims across the Herts & North London area. Our aims are to ensure: the proper flow of water in a river or watercourse and on the floodplain; the control of water levels; the security of existing flood defences and the security of new and existing large raised reservoirs. Working closely with the permitting staff in our Partnerships and Strategic Overview teams for the Area as well as engaging directly with stakeholders to understand their issues, and where necessary take positive enforcement action. Using our incident reporting and case management systems to progress issues to achieve positive flood risk and environmental outcomes.
The Asset Performance Teams deliver an annual programme of Revenue and Capital funded asset maintenance and improvement works throughout the area. The engagement and enforcement officer will work across the three Asset Performance Team boundaries.
We're looking for a person to lead on the delivery of our engagement and enforcement outcomes. You will be required to work independently, occasionally lone working, to assess potential enforcement cases in the area and progress them through to the correct outcome. You will need good interpersonal skills to enable you to engage effectively with members of the public, key stakeholders and internal colleagues. Some understanding of Flood Risk Permitting compliance, enforcement and engagement would be desirable.
