We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the North East Area Hydrometry and Telemetry Team. Your role will involve a wide range of core fieldwork activities, as well as project tasks, and will be predominantly field based. Core fieldwork includes the collection of high quality data from sites across the NE hydrometric network and is principally, but not exclusively, the following; rainfall, river flow, river level and groundwater level data. The collection and delivery of high quality hydrometric data is essential for the effective management of water resources and flood risk both locally and nationally.
The team undertakes core Hydrometry and Telemetry activities within the North East Area and are essential data providers to the organisation and its external partners. You will join a predominantly field based team and will be key to the delivery of the team’s core fieldwork as well as being involved in project work and also the upkeep and improvement of the telemetry network.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual and a good team player. You will have relevant vocational training and/or experience in a relevant field and possess knowledge and proven ability in:

Other key requirements include a keen eye for detail, good organisational skills and the ability to communicate well to a wide range of individuals and groups. As part of a customer driven team you will have excellent communication and customer service skills in order to understand client requirements and deliver to their expectations.

Full UK driving licence.
