We are recruiting to a Team Leader role, to lead and manage our Environment Management Team that delivers our waste regulation in Cornwall, Plymouth and the Isles of Scilly. In this role, you will lead and manage a team that plays a key role in:
- regulating permitted waste sites and those licensed by us to carry and manage waste, taking action to ensure compliance, including enforcement action
- investigating and tackling crime within the waste sector
- responding to environmental and other incidents where the Environment Agency has a role
Awareness and experience in waste and environmental regulation is desirable but more important will be your skills and ambitions in leading and managing people and workload. You will plan, manage and report on team outcomes, risks and delivery. You will support our incident response work through your own incident role and that of your team. You will encourage and support communications with colleagues and customers, delivering on our customer charter and helping us be better known for what we do. You will lead by example to help your team support our ambitions around equality, diversity and inclusion and sustainability. Above all, you will ensure you, your team and others stay safe and well.

Environment Management Waste Regulation covering Cornwall, Plymouth and Isles of Scilly, is a team of 9 people, including the team leader role. Team members are based at 3 different locations and are regularly out and about doing site visits.
Awareness and experience in waste and environmental regulation is desirable but more important will be your skills and ambitions in leading and managing people and workload.
