As a Senior Environment Officer (SEO) in Land and Water (L&W) you will have a varied role coaching, training and developing Environment Officers (EO), and working with SEOs and Team Leaders. You will join a team delivering regulatory activities to ensure achievement of environmental outcomes. The role will cover a range of activities including:
• Coordinate onboarding & induction of new EO’s
• Coaching & mentoring of new EO’s
• Environment officer 'A to B' Champion linking in with national team and other areas
• Oversee and co-ordinate training and development of the Land, Water & Agriculture team – identifying gaps and liaising with Leadership team to put plans into place to minimise resilience risks
• Linking in with other Greater Manchester Merseyside and Cheshire Environment Management teams to coordinate any training that can be done collaboratively and share best practice
• Linking in with other Area Land & Water teams and national teams to identify any opportunities for national training and development and to share best practice.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You are required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training is given. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and circumstances.
You will join one of the Land & Water Teams covering the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire area. You will mostly be based from our Warrington Office but can work from home and other offices, as well as being on site sometimes too. The Land & Water teams have a varied workstream making a real difference on issues such as water quality, pollution, water company regulation, agriculture, water resources and incident management.
We’re seeking a highly motivated technical leader with Environment Management experience. You will possess proven ability and/or knowledge of:

• Experience of coaching and mentoring others.
• Evidence of planning and implementing actions to achieve corporate and environmental objectives.
• Experience of influencing external customers and internal colleagues and delivering results
• Evidence of the interpretation of technical guidance and an ability to translate these into practical solutions for customers, colleagues and the environment.
• Experience of delivering environmental compliance and/or environmental outcomes in accordance with a relevant legislative regime.
• Experience of planning and coordinating workloads

Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills and influencing skills. You'll be proactive, self-motivated and have strong networking skills, particularly in becoming part of the technical leadership group in the area team.

This is a two year assignment. You'll be expected to undertake an incident management role and will be required to support relevant roles. As a result the post requires a full UK driving licence.
