If you’re part of the Environment Agency, you’re part of the solution. Working with us means protecting and improving the environment for future generations, tackling issues of national importance across a huge variety of disciplines.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of our Asset Performance teams in Yorkshire, where you will have an important role in managing our flood risk assets. You will be helping to deliver a wide variety of work to ensure that we have the right flood risk assets in the right places, in the correct condition and they are ready to operate when required.

As one of our Asset Performance Team Members, you will contribute to the management of the Environment Agency’s range of flood risk assets. You will be involved in supporting all our Asset Management activity. This role is very varied so you may be managing our data one day and liaising with customers about our assets on another. Site visits will be required and there is also an opportunity to work on incident response.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you with your incident role.
Our team manage the whole lifecycle of our flood and coastal erosion risk management assets, i.e, planning, delivery, operation, decommissioning. We are responsible for ensuring our assets are constructed, inspected, surveyed, assessed, maintained, and operated in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. This is a front-line role working to better protect local communities from flooding by ensuring our assets are ready and operate as intended.
We're seeking people with a passion for the environment to protect communities who are at risk of flooding. You will have excellent organisational, data and prioritisation skills that you will utilise to support the management of our assets.

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

• Excellent IT skills
• Data management skills
• An ability to learn about new systems and software
• An ability to work as part of a team and under your own initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Health, safety, and environmental awareness

Experience in flood risk management, GIS systems, engineering or asset management activities is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

A full UK or EU driving licence is preferable however it is not essential.

Please note that we do not accept CVs and that your answers to the competency questions will be used for interview selection.
We're fully committed to being an inclusive employer and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. We strive to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and hope to attract applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion.

We have a superb benefits package, including generous annual leave, an excellent pension, and flexible working arrangements.. We also offer extensive training to develop your career.

If you're thinking of applying and want to find out what it's like to work in this role and our Asset Performance team, please let us know - we can arrange for one of our team to contact you.

Interviews will be held at the end of June.

For any queries please contact Chris Lodge, 07979704288.
