Are you experienced in data handling? Do you want to support and influence resourcing strategy across several teams spread nationally? Do you want to contribute to delivery of better environmental outcomes? Then this newly created assignment could be a perfect opportunity.
Situated in the National Environmental Assessment and Sustainability (NEAS) group of the Major Projects and Programme Delivery (MPPD) directorate, you will collaboratively support Team Leaders and Operational Unit Managers to ensure optimal resource across the Capital Flood Defence Programme, and beyond.

You will support the service management of NEAS contractor workforce – known as bought-in service – ensuring the teams have adequate provision for their resource needs and will provide data for the NEAS workforce planning group.

You will support the Senior Leadership Team and budget holders to accurately forecast financial spend as well as provide regular spend reports to the wider management team.

You will also manage financial data related to NEAS’ innovation projects programme.
You will collaborate with a wide network of connections across the Agency and ensuring these relationships support and inform the financial and data-led targets of NEAS.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
You will report to the Operations Manager (North and National) and join the National team. Your work will be supporting the Commercial and Finance portfolios of the Operations Manager which will involve close working with the Senior Leadership team across the country.

The national team is a dispersed group of technical experts and project officers. The team has a strong identity and it is supportive and active, meeting virtually with planned face to face meetings.
For this role it is essential that you have:

• Data handling skills (particularly utilising Microsoft Excel).
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to varied audiences.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Drive and determination to seek answers by reaching out to relevant stakeholders.

In addition, it would be advantageous if you had:

• Experience of contract management.
• Experience of recruitment and/or workforce planning.
• A qualification pertaining to any of the above criteria

We’re flexible about where you’re based, but you should have the ability/willingness to occasionally travel nationally to meet colleagues and work collaboratively.
