We have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Field Team in Ipswich, Suffolk.

As a Team Member in our local Field Teams, you will be maintaining our river and flood defence assets and responding to flood and pollution incidents. Working as part of a diverse team you will help carry out routine maintenance, efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

You need to be able to communicate professionally with our partners and members of the public.

This hands-on, physical role involves working as part of a team, whilst being outside in all weathers. We also carry out machine work so experience of driving tractors / excavators / telehandlers would be advantageous. You will receive training in all the required skills.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The Operations Field Teams operates on a 9-day fortnight, in addition to the equivalent of 25 days annual leave and bank holidays that you will receive. Once trained, there will be standby and overtime opportunities available, and therefore scope to enhance the basic salary package.

You will be enrolled on the Water Environment Worker apprenticeship scheme and given support to complete this qualification.
