Are you curious? Are you interested in how we can learn and recover from incidents better? Are you interested in finding out how other countries manage environmental incidents? Would you like to build/nurture relationships and collaborations with international partners? If the answer to these 4 questions is, yes, you may be interested in applying for a permanent role as a Senior Advisor in our Incident Management Learning and Recovery Team.

You'll work inclusively with others to:

• Develop new, and nurture our existing, international collaborations with particular focus on how we can improve all aspects of our incident management activities.
• Lead our approach to incident management learning, both from others and from our own experiences, building excellent internal and external networks.
• Lead our approach to our recovery from incidents of all types and our fulfilment of the recovery aspirations outlined in our Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategy.
• Foster a culture of mutual support and continuous improvement to help us be the best we can at managing all the risks and incidents that we might face.

If this sounds like an interesting challenge, that you’d like to be a part of, we want to hear from you.
We are the Learning and Recovery team; we sit within our Incident management and Resilience Directorate. We are a small team with a dual focus on driving business improvements through learning, and a focus on the recovery from incidents seeking to drive up our own and communities at risk, resilience enabling us to continuously build back better. We work collaboratively, but remotely, with each other, the wider business and our partners.
We are interested to hear from anyone who believes they have relevant skills and/or experience they could bring to work with us and deliver this role.

You will want to work in an inclusive team, embracing diversity, and you’ll be able to tell us about how you could contribute to securing the best outcomes across our remit.
You will have researched and/or have experience of the approach to incident management and recovery in the UK.

You will have some relevant qualifications and/or previous experience that demonstrates that you can:

• Lead and persuade others, including senior managers, to change.
• Build and maintain productive harmonious relationships/collaborations with others to deliver outcomes.
• Develop compelling cases for change, assimilating different sorts of information from a variety of places to develop a supporting evidence base.
• Describe how you have developed and delivered an ambitious work programme.
• Engage effectively with customers.
This is a national role within a small dispersed team. As such, your base location can be flexible within any EA office. It is accepted that working patterns will change as we move out of the pandemic, but for the time being we will continue to primarily work from home. There may be occasions when you will need to travel and stay overnight in this role, but virtual collaboration is the preferred norm.

The interview/assessment process will be carried out remotely.
