Our National Permitting Service is in need of an enthusiastic administrator to provide a proactive and comprehensive support service to our Sheffield Permitting Centre.

This is a key role to ensure the effective delivery of work across the Permitting Centre and enable us to achieve our goals of protecting people, natural spaces, and wildlife.

In the role you will:

• Proactively arrange meetings, organise meeting papers, and take minutes
• Compile data and information into monthly reports
• Administrate recruitment activities; completing tasks such as inputting data into our recruitment portal, scheduling interviews, and completing administrative preparations for new starters joining the Centre
• Support records management in the Permitting Centre and ensure that key records such as contact lists are kept up to date
• Arrange travel and book trains and hotel accommodation as required
• Help to plan large events and conferences
• Work with peer group to identify and share and deliver best practice across the service
• Undertake further general administrative duties and tasks as assigned by the Permitting Centre Manager and their team
You will be working across the Sheffield Permitting Centre which is made up of 12 teams working on permits and licences for water quality, water resources and waste.
The centre is led by a permitting manager who manages the team leaders. You will report to a team leader. You will also become part of a network of Admin Support Officers in place across the Service.
You will require good written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to follow written processes and use different digital tools.

Relevant work experience would be an advantage, however being able to demonstrate the following list of skills will be important:

• Able to work using computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to ensure sensitive data and information is handled correctly and accurately
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
• Ability to work independently on your own, managing your own workload and meeting deadlines
Interviews will take place in January 2022 via Microsoft Teams.
