You will be trained and supported to contribute to our response to incidents.

A requirement of this role is to complete the Environment Agency’s field worker apprenticeship scheme. Enrolment is compulsory but you will be fully funded and supported throughout the 18 month programme.
Our Operations Field Teams are based at our Ely and King’s Lynn depots. We deliver an annual maintenance programme on rivers, watercourses and coastal defences across the area and respond to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night in our area as well as across the country when called upon.
• A positive adaptable approach and a ‘can do’ attitude towards your work and health and safety
• Good organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure during incidents are essential
• Good communication skills to work with customers and partners
• Experience with tablet style computers and familiarity with mobile technology
• A desire to work outside
• An environmental awareness and an appreciation of site health and safety would be desirable
• Driving licence – preferable for candidates to hold a full UK driving licence but if not be working towards gaining this.

A comprehensive package of skills training and personal development will be provided to meet the needs of the role, including the Environment Agency’s field worker apprenticeship scheme.

The candidate pack and Job profile should be read along with the advert to understand the key accountabilities and skills needed to succeed in this role.
