We are looking for someone to work as the Personal Assistant to a Director or Deputy Directors, providing them with comprehensive administrative support and ensuring the effective use of their time. You'll be well organised with good communication skills, and the ability to handle data and information and build and sustain effective relationships. As a member of the Business Support Team within the Environment and Business (E&B) Directorate you'll have the opportunity to help shape our approach. Depending on the size of your PA workload, you'll also work flexibly on other tasks which might include making arrangements for events or preparing communications.
The E&B Directorate steers the direction, sets the priorities and shapes our organisation's approach to delivering environmental outcomes and better regulation. The Business Support Team Personal Assistants provide an administrative and business support service to E&B, ultimately helping to secure positive outcomes for people and wildlife.
You’ll be excellent at building and sustaining working relationships as well as working in teams. You’ll share our pride in providing a polite, prompt and professional service to our customers. You’ll be well organised: able to manage yourself and your own work effectively, working under your own initiative. You’ll have good written and spoken communication skills. You’ll be able to act as an initial point of contact, communicating and filtering information so it is conveyed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner. You’ll have experience of giving excellent customer service. You will join a happy, successful and mutually supportive team of 14 people, and will also enjoy a close working relationship with the Directors, Deputy Directors and other managers whose work you will help to organise. Previous experience of PA work is not essential. A determination to become excellent at it certainly is. We will help you to do that.
For this vacancy the normal place of work needs to be Bristol or London as those are the offices in which we need to strengthen our presence for managers who spend much of their time there. Occasional, expenses paid visits to other locations may be required.
Please state whether you prefer Bristol or London in your application.
For an informal discussion please call Joe Stevens on 07880 785047.
