We are looking for a professional individual with knowledge and experience of different industrial sectors, to be responsible for the regulation of installations under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. You will ensure permit compliance, assess operator ability to protect the environment, prevent pollution and optimise resources.

Although comprehensive technical skills are desirable, effective influencing and negotiating skills are essential to secure best practice. You will be able to deal with technical and different management levels within industry, local communities and other interested groups. You will be expected to respond to, investigate and undertake enforcement to a range of environmental incidents. As a technical leader you will be expected to work autonomously, make decisions and engage others to support where needed.
The post will be in the Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire Area Installations South team regulating sites predominantly in Northamptonshire. We are a high performing and passionate team that regulate major industry across a number of sectors.

You will also support and advise other teams across the Area on industry sector regulation and compliance aspects.

We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated and a confident communicator, use to influencing and negotiating to deliver outcomes, with strong interpersonal skills; together with well-developed technical expertise and regulatory experience within an industrial environment.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience or transferable skills within process industry including; Management Systems, Auditing and Root Cause Analysis. Knowledge of the chemical, combustion and incineration sectors would be desirable also.

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to secure compliance through virtual and physical audit programmes together with analysing and interpretation of environmental monitoring and performance data.

You will be able to demonstrate your practical operational experience and knowledge of environmental regulation.

You are experienced in delivering environmental improvements using a range of tools and techniques.
