You have a unique chance to be part of shaping how water companies will plan their future water supplies and the actions they will take during a drought. We’re looking for an E&B Senior Advisor to lead our technical work and support our liaison with Defra and partner regulators.

This autumn we are advising Defra on the current water resource management plans (WRMPs), but are already looking ahead to the changes we’d like to see for the next round of WRMPs and drought plans and how we can improve our guidance to the water companies. This will be our priority work over the next two years.

We also support senior managers and others in their liaison with water companies and the work of the water resources national framework.
The Security of Supply team leads on water company planning for both long-term water company WRMPs and drought plans. We are responsible for delivering guidance to water companies in collaboration with Defra, Ofwat, the DWI and Natural Resources Wales. Water companies produce WRMP annual reviews, and we report on their progress to Defra.

We support Defra on related work areas and technical water resource planning issues.
