At the Environment Agency there’s so much more to our work than building flood risk management schemes or regulating industry. We strive to ensure that everything we do counts towards leaving a legacy to be proud of – for people, communities and the environment, for all of us and future generations to enjoy.

TEAM2100 (Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100) is an Environment Agency pathfinder project and the first multi-year programme to be implemented from the government approved Thames Estuary 2100 strategy. It is the Environment Agency’s single largest flood risk management programme and one of the government’s top 40 infrastructure projects.

The Deputy Services Manager is a key role in delivering the programme, within our high performing and collaborative team. The Deputy Services Manager is part of a small group of co-located specialist staff based central London, working with and reporting to the Service Manager.

Your role as an outstanding communicator, collaborator and influencer will be critical to the success of the high performing team, leading and inspiring the integrated delivery team including our delivery partners. Commercial leadership, contract administration and stakeholder engagement will sit at the heart of your role, so you’ll be confident building excellent collaborative working relationships.
TEAM2100 comprises around 120 delivery partner and Environment Agency staff, working in a supportive environment with a clear sense of purpose. You’ll also work with in our National Capital Programme Management Service (ncpms), creating a better place through excellence in project and programme management. Our strong, well-qualified team works together collaboratively, and we recognise the value each team member contributes.
Alongside a degree in a relevant field, you’ll have solid experience in both contract and project management. You’ll hold or be willing to work towards PRINCE2 Practitioner status or equivalent, and you will be a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or be committed to achieving this.
You’ll need to demonstrate exceptional track record in delivering complex projects with high risk factors and show us your excellent leadership skills.
You’ll be a first-class communicator, mentor and skilled negotiator, used to delivering desired outcomes on time and to budget, promoting continuous improvement. However, what will set you apart is your exceptional record of delivering complex, high-risk projects successfully – and your natural ability to bring big-picture thinking that improves the methods, behaviours and processes with the people you work with.

Closing Date: 18th November 2018 23:55 hours
