A rare and exciting opportunity within the Biodiversity & Geomorphology Team in Herts and North London Area for an experienced fluvial geomorphologist to help us restore and enhance the natural environment. We are looking for a combination of personal and professional skills in one charismatic individual. You'll provide expert fluvial geomorphological advice, guidance, training and technical tools to support colleagues in delivering improvements to the ecological status of our rivers, lakes and wetlands in accordance with the Water Framework Directive, and have a strong technical and practical focus.
You’ll join a vibrant Team of ecologists and geomorphologists. We conserve and enhance rivers, still-waters and wetlands to deliver long-lasting landscape-scale environmental improvements for people and wildlife. Major challenges include contributing to sustainable development and influencing our own capital schemes and operations, especially river restoration, improving fish passage, influencing renewable energy schemes, and building climate change resilience.
Qualified to at least degree level in a relevant technical discipline have significant levels of relevant practical experience, applying your technical knowledge to influence water management in ways that work with nature.

• You will have strong influencing and excellent communication skills and be a problem solver with a good track record of delivering results through others;
• You will be well-organised and have the confidence to work independently on your own initiative and to coach / mentor others to improve their capabilities in geomorphology;
• A good understanding of the requirements of WFD, particularly the hydromorphology element, is essential
