We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Team Leader who wants to make a difference. Someone who is passionate about people and the environment, who wants to lead and nurture their team to be happy, motivated and deliver excellence. This is a big challenge, but for the right individual, with the right drive and desire this could be a chance to change the status quo, to leave a mark and start something big. We are looking for someone who wants to improve things for people and wildlife. Someone who we can trust with leading and managing one of our teams, knowing they will get the best out of those talented individuals.

Ideally you will have some experience of the planning system, but this is not essential. This will be a fixed term contract until 31 July 2024 with the strong possibility of becoming permanent.
The team are primarily responsible for ensuring all the local planning in the East Midlands conforms to legislation on flooding and environmental matters. The team work closely with internal colleagues from other departments and has close working relationships with local planning authorities. There is scope for much more and this is where the opportunity lies for the right individual. Quite simply, to amplify the influence of the team.

- Knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation particularly relating to local plans/supporting evidence, major growth projects and development management work-streams.
- Confident in achieving quality results and in leading others to do the same.
The role will be based at Trentside Offices, Nottingham and whilst we have developed a flexible approach to remote working, you will be expected to attend Trentside at least once a week.
On occasions you may need to travel to Environment Agency offices or customers’ sites/offices in the East Midlands and occasionally further afield.
