You will be part of a group of Environment Agency staff providing important technical administrative support services to our Nuclear New Build (NNB) programme and project teams. You may also be called to support our joint work with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) through the Joint Programme Office (JPO) in Bootle, Liverpool, working in a busy office alongside ONR colleagues.

Tasks include electronic records management, maintaining performance reports, data and information handling, supporting the development of technical documents and general programme support. A range of corporate and programme specific IT systems are used in the role. Customer support, working with EA and ONR technical and regulatory staff, industry representatives and their project support offices is routine. The JPO also coordinates and facilitates technical and management meetings with industry representatives, often attending and taking notes of those meetings at ONR or company offices.

Potentially working across two sites in the north-west, local travel is to be expected. Some occasional national travel will also be required. The NNB team is a national team, dispersed across three main locations. So, while line management may be remote, the post-holder will be co-located with team-mates.
The NNB team supports the oversight, governance and operational support for project teams working on the development of new reactor designs and proposals for new nuclear power stations in England and Wales. Our work is high profile aimed to enable government policy for decarbonising the energy sector and tackle climate change. We work with many Area and National teams, with partners such as the ONR, other Defra bodies, Natural Resources Wales, with government, and industry.
The successful candidate will need to have demonstrated previous experience of working in a busy, professional office environment, working to deadlines and delivering accuracy in their work. Good IT and communication skills are essential. You will need to show that you can be self-motivated, proactive and forward thinking and able to work with minimal supervision. Being able to work as part of a bigger team with the common goal of providing first class customer services is highly desirable. Experience of, working in partnership arrangements would be helpful, but not essential. Prior knowledge of the Environment Agency, Office for Nuclear Regulation and the nuclear new build programme are not necessary.
Closing Date: 4th July 2018 at 23:55 hours For further information please contact Brian Payne, NNB Programme Manager on 02030 254110, or Paul Quinn, NNB Programme Support Officer on 02084 746333, Interviews will be held on Wednesday 18 July at Richard Fairclough House, Knutsford Rd, Latchford, Warrington.
