Our Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) team helps to protect against flooding and minimise the risks caused by any floods that do occur. You will play a leading role in planning the maintenance of our flood risk assets and take ownership for a geographical patch. Your enthusiasm and positive outlook will help you find solutions that deliver our maintenance activities.

We perform an essential role in ensuring that people and property are protected from flooding by taking the right investment decision at the right time; based upon robust data and excellent knowledge of our assets. There is a requirement to work in partnership and maintain productive relationships with our own field teams, external contractors, risk management authorities, and partner regulators/advisors.

Your day to day tasks will vary such that you may be planning a construction project one day, undertaking data work the next day and liaising with contractors and local residents on another. You also have the opportunity to get involved in incident response and take a leading role in co-ordinating our field service operatives during a flood event. This is a hugely rewarding role that can provide a lot of job satisfaction and opportunities for professional development.
The Asset Performance South team is a diverse and dispersed team which is responsible for the overall performance of our flood risk assets across Leicestershire. We ensure all assets are inspected, maintained and operated in a safe, efficient and effective manner to reduce flood risk for people and property. Our team comprises a mix of civil engineers, data and incident leads, asset inspector and technical support.
We're seeking individuals who have project management and/or asset management experience, preferably with relevant work experience in the flood risk sector and an understanding of flood, land drainage and reservoir legislation. You’ll ideally have an engineering or science background and a relevant qualification or demonstrable experience. Formal qualifications in civil engineering, project management (e.g. PRINCE2); data and information management (e.g. GIS); and experience of undertaking construction works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are advantageous.

It’s important that you’re skilled at managing multiple priorities and competing demands. You will be an excellent communicator and must also understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Other key requirements for this role include proficiency in data and information management; undertaking work in accordance with health and safety and environmental regulations; working in teams; and focussing on our customers and partners.
Closing date: 25th June 2018 at 23:55 hours

You'll be expected to travel to field locations across Leicestershire and the post requires a full UK driving licence. You'll also be expected to support our incident response activities.

The Asset Performance South team is a dispersed team which works between our Trentside Office in Nottingham and our Rothley Depot in Leicestershire.
