We are looking for enthusiastic, hard working individuals to take up the role of Specialist Field Team Member within the Field Operations Teams in Cumbria & Lancashire.

Specialist Field Team Members are required to provide leadership on health, safety and wellbeing for the Team, and ensure compliance with organisational policies and standards.

You will assist in the management of Field Team workflow and delivery of work programmes, alongside providing an effective incident response to flooding and environmental incidents. In addition, you will be expected to undertake an Incident Management role.

In order to deliver role you will have excellent customer service and communication skills, alongside the ability to influence at different levels.

The Field Operations Team are responsible for delivering maintenance programmes on main rivers and Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) assets. The Team also undertakes intermittent projects where skilled operatives use a variety of plant and equipment to complete specialist projects.

We also provide an effective incident response service in flooding and environmental incidents which is seen as our number one priority.
We are seeking individuals with experience in operational work obtained within the Environment Agency or similar organisations. You will have the proven ability and ability to demonstrate the following:

• Promote and provide leadership skills;
• Technical leadership experience of operational teams;
• Ability to influence and persuade at a variety of levels, both internally & externally;
• Excellent customer service skills both written and verbal, including experience of working alongside local community groups, dealing with difficult customers and answering enquiries from the public;
• Self motivation, with the ability to work well in a team/wider teams and independently, alongside delivering often conflicting demands within short deadlines;
• Working knowledge and experience of incident management, strategy, health, safety & wellbeing, and environmental legislation;
• In addition the following personal skills are a key requirement for this role - taking initiative, good time management, flexibility, problem solving and decision making.
