You will be leading a team with responsibility for preparation, review and embedding of asset management plans. As team leader, you will also provide input to operational plans and works collaboratively with both the TBAG Engineering team as well as the Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100 integrated delivery team (TEAM2100 IDT) to deliver asset management outcomes across the suite of assets.

Outcomes associated with the role and team are focused on meeting reliability, efficiency and performance targets, taking into account innovation and best practice to ensure the standard of service for managing flood risk in London is maintained in accordance with the Thames Estuary 2100 plan.

The job also requires leadership and direction for the facilities and internal environment management of the TTD operational structures, working to deliver corporate and local strategies focusing on building, energy and waste efficiencies and best practice.
The Thames Barrier and Associated Gates (TBAG) Asset Performance Team are the asset owners for the active assets that comprise the Thames Tidal Defences (TTD) that manage flood risk to London in accordance with the Thames Estuary 2100 plan.
Ideally you’ll be qualified to degree standard (or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or have sufficient relevant work experience and be working at an equivalent professional level.

You’ll possess ability and/or knowledge of, and appropriate behaviours to carry out:

• line management and leadership of employees with specific focus on asset management strategies, plans, systems and delivery

• good understanding of internal environment (IEM), facilities and data management.

• managing programmes of work, change with monitoring and leading to maintain quality of delivery;

• effective leadership on health, safety wellbeing (HSW) matters, promoting HSW best practice to ensure a safe working environment;

• understanding of integrated project delivery teams, outcome based specifications and delivering to time, quality and cost forecast;

• high quality, priority and risk based decision making;

• incident response activities with the ability to input into and solve complex problems;
