Working closely with the Sustainable Growth Manager you will support new strategic partnerships and investment planning, aligning environmental infrastructure needs with growth aspirations and delivery. You will be responsible for:
•Identifying and showcasing the role environmental infrastructure has in protecting and increasing the viable and future use, value and productivity of land and other capital
•Developing a long term West Midland wide investment pipeline identifying environmental infrastructure requirements to support sustainable growth
•Supporting new strategic partnerships and investment planning
•Attracting investment through proactive partnership working
Led by the Sustainable Growth Manager, the Economic Growth and Prosperity Team are an integral part of Flood and Coastal Risk Management, albeit with responsibility for a business wide approach to growth activity across the West Midlands including land and water and regulated industry. The role will support place based working, providing technical economic growth expertise and developing robust intelligence for use by Senior Management to ensure effective engagement with strategic partners and investors
You will have excellent knowledge of local economic growth and place shaping with a strong understanding of partner commercial drivers and decision making processes.
You will have proven experience of working strategically within local authorities and with the business community and other stakeholders around corporate growth plans and investment planning.
You will have a strong understanding of the range and role of partners involved in local place shaping activity across the West Midlands, alongside their engagement and investment drivers.
You will have a track record of project delivery, particularly within infrastructure and sustainable growth focused projects, with a knowledge of strategic investment streams and/or experience of external funding
You will have the ability to work flexibly and at pace to meet business and partner needs.
The role is initially for a 2 year fixed term but with potential to be made permanent
Based within the West Midlands Area, your work could touch any part of our geography. Base location is flexible. Travel across the West Midlands will be required.
Our staff are all expected to undertake an incident role, which may require out of hours work.
