We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support and help shape the work of the Anglian (Northern) Regional Flood & Coastal Committee (RFCC).

The Committee plays a pivotal role in managing flood risk, working with all Risk Management Authorities to promote efficient, targeted and risk-based investment that optimises value for money and benefits for local communities.

You will be responsible for providing an efficient support service to the Committee and can expect to be involved in the following:

• Act as the Secretariat for all Committee meetings and sub-groups.
• Build relationships and manage engagement with the Committee Chair, members and external stakeholders.
• Lead on the recruitment of new members and their learning and development.
• Lead on overall governance of the Committee, in line with legislation and Defra/Cabinet Office guidelines.

In addition, you will support the wider work of the Programme Team in managing the Committee’s programmes. This will involve tracking project expenditure and performance, analysing data, preparing reports and supplying information to internal and external customers.
The Programme Team tracks spending, delivery and performance in completing programmes to create new flood defences, repair and maintain defences. We advise on the status of the programmes, risks and opportunities. We also supply information to national teams, brief communities, politicians and partners on progress, and provide Secretariat support to the Anglian (Northern) Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrable ability in the following areas:

Essential:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to build strong working relationships with external partners.
• Experience of providing consistent high quality service.
• Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point and Excel.
• A proven record of working with customers and delivering on time.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the Environment Agency and its work.
• Experience of supporting a Committee.
• Experience of managing and analysing data.

The successful candidate will need to travel to various Environment Agency offices, and to committee venues, so you will need a full driving licence.

Full driving license
