TEAM2100 (Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100) is an Environment Agency pathfinder project and the first multi-year programme to be implemented from the government approved Thames Estuary 2100 strategy.
This role sits in Programme & Contract Management (PCM) and is a senior position within our integrated project team, taking accountability for delivery of projects as a project executive. You will oversee the project delivery process with our delivery partners from initial strategic planning, through to feasibility, detailed design and then into construction and handover. You will mentor and coach project team members, flexing your involvement to suit the strength of the team.
You will build a great working environment with high performing teams including our suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists, and other partners. Applying your strong commercial acumen in project, contract, and risk management, you will establish effective relationships, facilitating collaborative and efficient ways of working. You will make key project decisions informed by technical leads whilst following governance procedures, project assurance and legislation.
Your role as an outstanding communicator, collaborator, influencer, and leader is critical to the success of the projects you will lead. You’ll be confident in building excellent working relationships and you’ll lead and inspire staff across the programme, for both Environment Agency staff and our delivery partners.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Solid experience in both contract and project management.
PRINCE2 Practitioner status or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this.
A member of one of the following: Institution of Civil Engineers; Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management; Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; Institute of Asset Management; or Association of Project Managers or be committed to achieving this.
Be able to demonstrate an exceptional track record in delivering complex projects in a high risk/pressured environment.
A natural ability to bring big-picture thinking that improves the methods, behaviours and processes with the people you work with.
