Joining this crucial area of the business, you’ll be part of a team working on our exciting mainly flood defence Projects, being involved from initial strategic planning through to implementation, construction and delivery. You’ll be responsible for delivering some of our low to medium risk projects and will work with senior colleagues gaining experience of major Projects and Packages of work. Everything you do will bring you the daily reward of knowing that you are helping to save lives, protect homes and businesses and create a better place for people and wildlife.
Our valued National Capital Programme Management Service (NCPMS) is responsible for delivering the majority of our important projects, mainly but not exclusively in the area of flood defence; from multimillion pound programmes to ground-breaking, award-winning projects. Your local team will include around 50-60 colleagues within a supportive environment with a clear sense of purpose. Working as a team is very important to us and we recognise the value each team member contributes.
Alongside a degree in a relevant field, you’ll have solid experience in both contract and project management, always willing to innovate and improve practices and procedures. You’ll hold or be willing to work towards PRINCE2 Foundation status or equivalent, and you will be a member of the Institute of Chartered Engineers, Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or be committed to achieving this. You’ll be a first-class communicator and skilled negotiator, used to delivering desired outcomes on time and to budget, by being a champion of environmental safety and practice.
One post is based at Bridgwater, and the other based at either Exeter or Bridgwater.

Salary £26,869 (grade base rate).

Driving licence ideally required as some driving may be necessary. Lease car is available where there is a clear business need.
