We work with other response agencies and communities to reduce the impacts of incidents on the natural environment, human health or property.

Ensuring that our staff are fully prepared and our services give our customers and partners the very best information and advice, to respond well when it matters, is the role of the Incident Management and Resilience (IM&R) department within our National Operations Directorate.

If you’re passionate about incidents, full of ideas about how we could improve our response and good at making changes happen here’s your chance to put that into practice.

They ensure people who need to make changes to their ways of working know what’s required of them and when to do this by.

• Experience of monitoring and ensuring the benefits of change programmes are realised
• An ability to network and develop strong links with colleagues, keeping them informed and managing their expectations.
• Strong organisations skills for your own and others work, being able to re-prioritise and adapt your plans quickly and work independently.
• An ability to develop ideas into actions and embed these effectively, using your influencing skills to overcome resistance to change.
• An ability to deliver results through others outside of your direct control across multiple teams.

An understanding of incident management and the responsibilities of Category 1 responders under the Civil Contingencies Act would be desirable.
