We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Environment Assistant to join our Environment Management team based in the North West. The Team regulates waste facilities ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permitting Regulations; also undertaking pollution incident response and investigation.
This role is the corner stone of the team and is extremely varied, drawing upon a range of transferrable and specialist skills. Working closely with other teams and departments, you can expect to be involved in any of the following:

• Essential administrative support enabling the teams to complete their duties
• Collection, analysis and interpretation of data
• Coordinating responses to often high profile and sensitive environmental issues
• Taking part in incident management
• Records management of enforcement case files
• Providing information requested by internal and external customers
Our team are responsible for regulating the waste industry, including the inspection of permitted sites, policing illegal sites and investigating waste crime across our Area geographies.
You will help to create a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for people and wildlife, dealing with a wide range of environmental issues from permitted and illegal waste sites ensuring all activity happens without harm to people or wildlife.
Through your experience to date you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:
• Customer service excellence is a vital part of the role.
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes
• Good organisational skills and an ability to use MS Office
