This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who would like to work as part of diverse team with a focus on supporting the Programme Manager and Technical Specialists working on the proposed expansion of London Heathrow Airport as well as other Major Infrastructure Projects.

We are looking for an experienced project support officer to assist on the delivery of high profile projects in the diverse Hertfordshire and North London Area. In this role, the successful candidate will help make a genuine contribution to reducing the environmental impact of Major Infrastructure Projects, supporting sustainable development and a better environment for people and wildlife.

The post-holder will work closely with the Programme Manager to:

• Monitor the delivery of work streams against plans, chasing and facilitating progress as appropriate;
• Enable the smooth running of projects by ensuring the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.
• Lead on data and records management for the team.

The role will service a number of projects. The successful candidate must be very organised, being able to prioritise and pay attention to detail while working under a pressurised yet rewarding environment.
We are creating a new team which will provide a dedicated full time resource, with a greater ability to focus wholly on the proposed expansion at London Heathrow Airport as well as other Major Infrastructure Projects. The team will consist of specialist staff across a number of disciplines who will be contributing their expertise and knowledge to the project.
It is important that candidates have experience of working on major projects or delivering strategies across businesses. You must be flexible and motivated and able to work in a dispersed team. You will enable the smooth running of the projects by strengthening the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on behalf of the programme manager.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Experience of building productive relationships with internal and external Stakeholders such as Technical Specialists, delivery teams and Project Managers;
• identification and management of risks, issues and dependencies;
• planning, preparing, monitoring and reporting on project plans to progress;
• ability to work to tight timescales, managing priorities and ensuring delivery of quality products;
• ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly to a non-technical audience.
