We have an exciting opportunity as Personal Assistant to our Deputy Director of Operations Regulatory Services, providing excellent administrative support to them and the wider leadership team. As a brilliant organiser, your role will be vital to the smooth running of the team, organising calendars, reserving travel and accommodation and efficiently managing email traffic. Your willingness to step forward happily to administer whatever is needed to keep us all on track and enjoy supporting a creatively thinking leadership team will make you a highly valued member of the team. You will work alongside others but need to take a proactive approach, think ahead and act on your own initiative.

Operations Regulatory Services (ORS) is part of the Environment Agency’s Chief Operating Officer’s Directorate. Our team of 300 officers provide assurance that businesses are held to the highest standards of environmental protection. We are responsible for a broad range of regulatory services on waste, carbon reduction, data and finance, supporting the wider Environment Agency. We are passionate about the people in our team, striving to make it a great place to work.
Your experience is not as important as your energy, enthusiasm and passion for the environment and for making the Environment Agency a more effective organisation and of course your dedication to the role of Personal Assistant.
Ideally, you should have the following skills:
• Be highly organised and a self-starter as you will be working mainly unsupervised
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people
• The ability to work at pace, and effectively manage competing priorities using good judgement and decision making abilities
• Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Teams and other software, and able to pick up new IT systems quickly
• Some experience of administrative or planning work
This role will be based in either our Warrington or Preston office with a combination of office and home working. Occasional travel to meetings will be required subject to Covid restrictions.
