Following a successful 2 year pilot scheme the Complex Review & Support Team (CRST) is now looking to recruit permanently within the team. The CRST is a knowledgeable/experienced team dealing with sensitive investigations contributing to our strategic priority to ensure the health safety and well-being of our staff

As specialist reviewer you will be carrying out complex/sensitive investigations/reviews of high consequence to the organisation/teams/individuals. These are typically associated with multiple allegations and multiple complainants and/or respondents; also grievances against agreed policy/procedure, and reviews such as Safety Critical Reviews that are complex and may have organisational consequences.

Another key component of this role will be to assist in developing the CRST into a ‘centre of excellence’ in investigatory and informal dispute resolution practices and supporting these practices in other areas of the business.

An understanding of the policies relating to the areas of investigations and a good knowledge of Employment legislation will be required. This is a senior specialist National role so a broad knowledge of how the business operates is essential.

Working closely with managers/HR/TUs and legal advisors this role draws upon a range of transferable skills such as:

The Complex Review & Support Team sits within the Health Safety & Well-being department. You’ll be part of a diverse team with varied experiences/backgrounds/approaches. It is a national team with members dispersed around the country responding to employee relations casework across the business. The team are passionate and committed about helping people to create a positive, fair, supportive and inclusive culture throughout the organisation; putting people’s well-being at the heart of the HR processes
We’re looking for transferable specialist investigatory skills/emotional intelligence/personal resilience/collaborative attitude and a commitment to creating a fair/inclusive culture. Experience of conducting reviews/investigations is essential.

You will need:

• Excellent knowledge on how the business operates
• An excellent understanding of HR Employee Relations policies/procedures, including Grievance/Disciplinary/Whistleblowing/Fraud policies/procedures
• Experience conducting workplace/employee relations/investigations/reviews.
• Demonstrate you can work autonomously delivering multiple investigations/reviews involving diverse issues, simultaneously
• Experience of demonstrating personal accountability
• Experience of briefing/presenting information/reports to a varied level of meetings/hearings/tribunals etc.
• An ability to assimilate complex/conflicting information via documents/research/interviews and other lines of inquiry
• Be able to develop plans/priorities through analysis, involving conflicting information/accounts gathered through reports/data/personal accounts.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Active listening/influencing/powerful questioning skills
• The post holder must have experience in coaching/mentoring senior staff on specialist subjects /skills and an ability to draw in best practice and build on relationships.
Interviews will be held remotely via MS Teams and are planned for the week commencing 24th June 2021.
