We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to deliver our challenging £2.5M NFM project across 18 locations in Cumbria, working with internal and external partners, based in the Cumbria Partnership and Strategic Overview (PSO) team.
The successful applicant will
• ensure the delivery to completion of all our NFM projects, delivering a high quality, cost effective and closely monitored set of outputs delivered on the ground.
• work closely with our delivery partners and academic partners to identify and manage any risks to delivery, ensure timely completion, and collation of monitoring data to demonstrate the impact of the projects
• manage the financial aspect of the programme, ensuring that payments are made for works that have been delivered in line with the agreed project objectives, and that those works are done to a high standard and on time
• update the national programme team and to ensure that the programme spend profile is up to date. In addition you will need to respond quickly to ministerial and media queries.
The PSO team works with other Environment Agency functions, RMAs and local communities to deliver flood and coastal risk management outcomes. It is a multi-disciplinary team of 15, with Flood Risk Advisors, Planning and Permitting Officers and admin support.
We are seeking an individual with proven track record of delivering environmental projects on the ground, along with experience of working with others to deliver results. You will have proven ability and knowledge of the following:
• Delivery of environmental projects (essential)
• Partnership working - developing and maintaining excellent internal and external customer relationships (essential)
• Strong communication, prioritisation and organisation skills to manage a demanding workload (essential)
• Strong Influencing Skills - working with others to solve problems and deliver environmental outcomes (essential)
• Knowledge of natural flood risk management principles and techniques (desirable)
• Delivering high profile work and managing political sensitive sensitivities (desirable)
