We are looking for two Grade 3 team members to support the asset management of our flood defences across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.

The work will vary depending on changing needs. You may be involved in Project Delivery, Routine Maintenance, Incident Planning or Data Management. Tasks will include managing and reporting on our asset data, scheduling training and rosters, producing letters and work orders, monitoring work progress and updating our IT systems.
The Asset Performance team is responsible for ensuring Flood and Coastal Risk Management assets are constructed, inspected, surveyed, assessed, maintained and operated in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Reducing flood risk to people and property and ensuring they operate to agreed service levels and standards. During a flood event, we operate our flood assets to deliver the Environment Agency’s operational response in collaboration with our partners.
You will have:
• Proven data management skills.
• Accurately work with large data sets.
• You will be comfortable learning how to use new software.
• Experience using Excel.
• Ideally you will have experience using GIS tools.
• Health, Safety & Environmental awareness.

Effective communication skills are a must and it’s important that you’re skilled at managing multiple priorities. You’ll be an intelligent problem solver too, with a methodical work approach. You'll be organised and have attention to detail to ensure our work is delivered to a high standard.

One post is permanent and one is a fixed term contract until the end of August 2019, this may become permanent.
The posts are based at Sale Depot. Travel to other offices and site visits may be required as part of the role for which you will be reimbursed. You will be encouraged to take on an out of hours incident role.
