An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Kidderminster or Tewkesbury Asset Performance team in West Midlands. You will take an active role in managing our flood risk defenses in the local area. You will be helping to deliver a wide variety of work to ensure that we have the right flood risk assets in the right places and that they are in the correct condition.

You will help manage our data to ensure it is of a high quality and can be relied upon to inform our future investment programme. This may include site work to understand our defences, collect, analyse and interpret information on it to ensure that we can manage it efficiently.

This role involves huge variety and so you may be planning an engineering project one day, undertaking data work the next day and liaising with contractors, local residents and partners on another. There is also the opportunity to be involved with incident response.
Our team manages a diverse range of flood risk assets across the West Midlands. The team inspects assets through visual and detailed assessment, develops work programmes through collaboration with other teams to ensure they fit with business strategies.
This is a front-line role working to better protect local communities from flooding.
We’re seeking individuals with a passion for the environment and the ability to learn new skills. The way in which you adapt, communicate & use your initiative to overcome problems is what will set you apart.
Ideally, you will have an engineering or science background. Some demonstratable knowledge of flood risk management would be advantageous although not essential.
Formal qualifications in civil engineering, project management; data and information management (e.g. GIS); and experience of undertaking works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are advantageous, however, the ability to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge would be valuable.
