We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate with excellent communication, planning and data manipulation skills to help plan and deliver multi-functional environmental benefits.

Working on a catchment basis you will collate, analyse and share data across surface water quality and Water Framework Directive (WFD) issues facing the environment in Hertfordshire and North London Area.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to
respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and
alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
You’ll join a team of environment planning specialists and officers who focus predominantly on surface water quality and Water Framework Directive activities. Working with operational teams and national colleagues, the team collates, analyses and shares data to produce environmental evidence that informs and drives area priorities.

We’re a team of trusted advisors at the heart of environmental decision making, bringing together internal and external partners to facilitate integrated actions and collective delivery.
• You will have a good understanding of our business and environmental activities, ideally you will have some knowledge in water quality aspects of the environment.
• You will have strong IT/communication skills.
• You will be effective at managing yourself/ working within teams.
• You will have excellent organisational skills meaning you are able to work to deadlines/ prioritise your work.
• You will be able to maintain a strong customer focus to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working to achieve environmental goals.
• Data and information management is a key part of this role and experience of using excel and GIS is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to apply their existing knowledge and experience to the role but will have the opportunity to develop technical skills/knowledge. We have a variety of tools/ internal training available providing many development opportunities -technically and personally.
