Operational Delivery, Programme and Project Management
Last year Yorkshire was severely affected by intense rainfall and flooding. As a result, we’re growing our Flood and Coastal Risk Management teams so that we can reduce the risk of flooding to the people of Yorkshire. It’s an exciting time and we need your help to ensure we’re fully prepared for the future.

You'll be the principal advisor to Yorkshire's contribution to the National Flood and Coastal Risk Management programme of work. Overseeing capital and revenue projects, you’ll work with internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered and funding is maintained. Providing local advice to ensure projects are delivered correctly, you'll also review project performance in view of financial, efficiency and outcome measure targets. The role will also work closely with the Regional Flood & Coastal Committee, local partners and internal teams on project/programme development and approaches to local funding.

You can expect to be involved in:

• Tracking project spend
• Scheduling project resource
• Advising on the status of projects and the wider programme
• Supplying information to national teams
• Briefing local communities
Flood and Coastal Risk Management teams help protect against flooding and minimise the risks caused by floods.

The Programme team tracks project spending, delivery and our performance in completing programmes of work to create new flood defences, repair and maintain these defences and our routine river maintenance. The team advises on the status of programmes and supplies information to national teams, the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, communities, politicians and partners on our progress.
You'll have managed numerous projects and programmes in the past at Project Manager or Programme Manager level. There’ll be lots of spreadsheets involved so you must be highly numerate and have experience overseeing project finances. You’ll be able to demonstrate how you’ve developed strong relationships with internal and external partners as well as the general public in your career so far. Additionally you’ll be:

• Skilled at managing multiple priorities and competing demands
• Able to show where you’ve worked with others to deliver outcomes
• An intelligent problem solver with a methodical work approach
• Able to analyse and interpret complex data
