We are permanently recruiting to the Yorkshire Area Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly visible operational leader who is able to organise, inspire and motivate people to achieve great outcomes for the Environment.

You will know how to make our corporate ambitions and local priorities resonate with others so that plans are converted into delivery on the ground and key stakeholders recognise the value of our work. You will bring a passion to the role and, in return, be supported by great people in the Area.

You will be expected to work closely with Area and National colleagues to shape future business and look for continuous improvement opportunities. You will need to lead great performance against a wide range of activities and big environmental challenges.
As a member of the Area Leadership Team, you will be committed to developing yourself and those around you, being a positive role model for the whole area. You will be versatile in the way you create an open, inclusive and trusting culture where people can be at their best.

You will lead and manage a large diverse department, which will be dispersed across Yorkshire, to deliver our business and people priorities.
This is an important and challenging role. You will need to deliver results through others across the organisation and through building coalitions for partnership working. You will be effective at influencing and persuading, be a capable communicator and have a strong customer and partner focus. You will use these skills to shape how your department operates and be confident in representing the Environment Agency to influence senior external stakeholders.

You will know how to make the best use of available resources to deliver outcomes for the benefit of people living and working in Yorkshire, which align with the Agency’s priorities. You will be able to draw on your experiences as a leader to make a real difference.

As a member of the Area Leadership Team you will be committed to developing yourself and those around you, providing a positive role model who can create an open, inclusive, and trusting culture.
You will be based in one of our Yorkshire Area Offices and be expected to travel to other locations in Yorkshire and across England.

The Environment Agency takes part in incident response. If successful, your role in an incident will depend on your experience and circumstances.
