Do you want to make the North East a better place? Are you passionate about protecting against natural threats and hazards and improving the environment?
We need a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Partnership and Strategic Overview (PSO) Team.
You'll work with other Risk Management Authorities (RMAs), communities and stakeholders, forging partnerships based around a mutual understanding of how to reduce the risk of flooding to the communities we serve. You’ll help identify flood risk and find the most appropriate solutions, providing advice and guidance on everything from project management and funding, to planning, permitting, and community engagement. You'll also help;

• Identify, develop, attract and secure funding opportunities to support flood risk management projects.
• Empower public sector partners to deliver more for communities and the environment.
• Build relationships with key private sector organisations to secure their support and investment.

Critical to this will be your ability to think creatively; working collaboratively with external organisations and stakeholders to develop partnerships and maximise opportunities for funding capital schemes.
You'll also be expected to participate in our management of flood incident response and will receive full training and support to enable you to play your part
Our team is highly motivated, vibrant and successful, offering a great place to work. You'll be supported to develop professionally and achieve great results. We work with other RMAs & communities identifying, developing, funding and supporting delivery of capital flood risk and coastal erosion schemes. We have an overview of flood risk across NE England through strategic planning, understanding of flood risk, permitting flood risk activities, influencing development planning and responding to flood incidents
We’re seeking a confident communicator with excellent negotiating and influencing skills and a proven ability to build relationships with external partners and stakeholders. You’ll understand the importance of team work and collaboration and possess significant experience in developing partnerships and securing funding. An understanding of flood risk and how it is managed would also be advantageous.

Qualified to at least degree standard (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, chartered or full membership of a relevant professional institute is desirable

You will also need to hold a full driving licence
