Are you passionate about protecting the nation against natural threats and hazards?
We are looking for a great person to provide drive performance and deliver projects in one of the Environment Agency’s Asset Performance Teams in East Anglia. The role is focussed on ensuring that our flood risk assets perform as they should in order to help manage flood risk to people and property.
This role involves managing the whole process of delivery for flood risk Capital funded projects. You will play a part ensuring funding is secured, scoping works, focussing on the getting the right outcome for people and the environment at the right cost. As Senior User you will ensure that the needs of the Client and all other internal customers are represented. You will have a good understanding of CDM, managing the procurement process, contractor engagement, risk management and monitoring delivery right through to the successful completion of works on the ground.
You'll also be sharing your contract management experience and expertise with other team members to improve their commercial expertise and create efficiencies through packaging projects with contractors. You'll also be involved in helping to make sure we’re ready to respond to flood and environmental incidents.
Our Asset Performance teams manage and maintain flood risk assets. Inspection of all of our assets is key to identifying our needs and securing funding. Utilising Grant in Aid, Internal Drainage Board precept and General Drainage Charge budgets to produce Capital works programmes. We work with partners to understand and manage flood risk to benefit communities.
• First-hand experience in operating and managing contracts (ideally NEC) for at least 6 months, including tender processes, contract award and administration.
• Programme/project management experience, and very good communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to multi task and prioritise.
• Good numerical reasoning and IT and data skills

PRINCE2 ideal, ICE/CIWEM or working toward membership
The grade rate is £34,330
Hours : 37 per week.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
We as an Agency take part in incident response. If successful your line manager will discuss arrangements with you depending on your role and circumstances.
