This is an exciting opportunity to join the Flood Resilience team and make a real difference to how we prepare for and respond to incidents in Kent & South London.

You’ll play an important part in planning and delivering engagement within communities across Kent and South London. You’ll continue to support communities who were affected by recent flooding and have the opportunity to develop relationships with new communities. You’ll empower them to prepare for flooding and become a resilient community by developing flood plans, recruiting Flood Wardens and promoting the Flood Warning service.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work across the other functions of the team to support important areas of work, making improvements to the Flood Warning service and improving the way we plan and respond to incidents.
The Flood Resilience Team is at the heart of the Environment Agency's incident management in Kent & South London. It is our job to ensure that we, our partners, and our communities are prepared for flooding, and able to respond effectively before, during and after a flood. We do this by managing our incident management arrangements, our Flood Warning service, and building resilient communities.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, confident in engaging with people within different communities. You'll be well organised and have excellent attention to detail to ensure our work is delivered to a high standard. You'll be able to work as part of a team and individually and prioritise an interesting and varied workload. You will be a quick-learner, with a strong customer-focus, and a desire to make a difference. You will be good at working under pressure, working flexibly and at pace, and delivering outcomes.
Closing Date: 1st March 2018 at 23:55 hours
The role will be based in Addington, Orchard House and interviews will be held w/c 19th March 2018.
