As an Intelligence Officer you will pro-actively collect, collate, evaluate and develop information and intelligence from various internal and external sources, including partner agencies such as the Police, HMRC and DVSA.

You will produce high quality, actionable intelligence products, enabling investigators and managers to effectively target resources against those causing the greatest risks, threats and harm to the environment.

You will liaise with our staff on the ground, building and maintaining strong relationships and actively promoting the intelligence function. You will brief staff and senior managers on your work by means of intelligence meetings and through the Tactical Assessment.

You'll also be involved in sanitising and supervising incoming intelligence reports, training new users of the intelligence system and offering them ongoing feedback and support.

Please be aware, we are recruiting to four permanent positions and one fixed term contract until the end of March 2019.
You'll be based in our central intelligence team offices at Sapphire East, Solihull. The team has a remit to deliver intelligence nationally and you will work with and support staff located across the country.

You'll work alongside a team of analysts, field intelligence officers and researchers providing vital support to local and national investigations into serious and organised environmental crime.
You don't need to be from a police background but must have knowledge and ideally experience of dealing with and handling intelligence, as well as knowledge of the surrounding legislation. If you have relevant transferrable skills not related to law enforcement, please tell us about them too!

You will have proven experience in data and information management as well as the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers. You will be required to proactively develop work product and show initiative in customer engagement to work to deadlines.

You will be responsible for managing your workload to prioritise against existing investigations while developing new operations.

We are currently seeking to recruit into four permanent vacancies and one fixed term vacancy (which has an end date of 31/03/2019).
There will be some travel to other offices and overnight stays may occasionally be required but you will be given plenty of notice beforehand.
