We are looking for individuals working specifically in our Partnership and Strategic Overview (3 posts) and Flood Resilience (1 post) teams. You will work closely with senior colleagues, supporting them in building relationships with communities, Local Authorities and other partners to reduce flood risk. This will involve identifying risk, and supporting colleagues and professional partners in finding the most appropriate solutions through data analysis and interpretation such as preparing reports, contributing to field investigations and providing a first level technical response.
Your day to day work will include everything from carrying out basic flood mapping and planning consenting works, to improving our flood defences and flood warning service, to working with communities to better prepare them for flooding.
We take Health and Safety seriously and you will be expected to support best practice.

This advert is for the following posts:
Two permanent and one fixed term (until 31/03/2019) Partnerships and Strategic Overview positions.
One fixed term (until 31/12/2018) Flood Resilience position.

Our Flood Resilience team are at the forefront of our warning and informing service to flood risk communities, whilst ensuring our staff are ready to respond to the next flood incident.
You’ll need to be passionate about reducing flood risk for local communities. You’ll be highly organised, with an efficient and logical approach to data management and workload prioritisation. Ideally you’ll have experience of GIS, Databases and MS Excel. You’ll also need to be someone who can work as part of a successful team to deliver real improvements on the ground. Ideally, you will understand and may have some experience in flood risk but this is not essential.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
