This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Asset Performance Team in Yorkshire to help create a better place for people and wildlife.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals looking to lead a team in a very exciting part of the business. You will set a clear direction for your team, support your team in prioritising workloads in line with our organisational objectives and show flexibility when priorities change, during incidents for example.

You will be part of our Operations Leadership Team, and with will work closely with other Team Leaders in Flood and Coastal Risk Management. We are seeking an experienced or aspiring leader looking to develop their career as part of our Operations Leadership Team.
Our Asset Performance Teams are responsible for managing flood assets which protect communities across Yorkshire. You would lead this multi-skilled team which includes asset managers, engineers, environmental, data and construction specialists responsible for delivering whole life asset management. This includes planning and delivering our capital flood risk schemes and asset maintenance programme. Asset Performance Teams also prepare, exercise and lead our operational response during incidents.
Required skills:
•An ability to motivate and inspire your team, providing leadership and direction and prioritising team activities to deliver our asset and incident management objectives.
•The skills to develop your team and support individuals in achieving their full potential.
•A commitment to ensuring our teams are safe and well, setting high standards in risk management, ensuring the provision of safe working practices in line with legislation and Environment Agency guidance.
•A flexible approach to lead and support your team through change.
•Adaptable communication skills and a proven track record in delivering through others.
•Commitment to championing diversity, equality and inclusion.
Desirable but not essential
•Experience working in environmental management and/or flood risk management.
•An understanding of the principles of asset management.
•A professional background, having achieved, working towards or interested in achieving Chartered or Incorporated status of a relevant professional institution.
•You would be based in either Leeds, Barnsley or Beverley.
•A driving licence is essential.
•As part of this role you will be required to have an incident response role.
